Light, soft and buttery breadsticks that are so easy to make and taste so delicious!

Makes 6-7 breadsticks

INGREDIENTS:

2 teaspoon active yeast

1/2 cup warm water

1 1/2 cup bread flour

1 teaspoon sugar

1 teaspoon salt

3 garlic cloves, grated

2 tablespoon oil

Topping

2 tablespoon butter, melted

1 tablespoon garlic seasoning ( or mix of oregano, garlic powder, onion powder)

salt, only if the seasoning doesnt have it.

Place 1/2 cup warm water in the bowl of a stand mixer; sprinkle yeast. Wait for the mixture to get foamy. Add the flour, sugar, salt and grated garlic. Stir it up. Now add the oil, turn on the mixer and allow it to do all the hard work. You will see a smooth and soft dough that will come together like a ball, about 6-8 minutes. By hand, this process will take a bit longer. Grease a bowl with oil, place the dough and flip it once to coat all the sides. Cover with a plastic wrap and allow it to rise, about an hour. Punch it down and place it on a floured surface. Using a rolling pin, roll it into a rectangle about 9 x 7 inches, 1/2 inch thickness. Using a pizza cutter, cut them into 1 inch strips, still keeping it intact. Cover and allow it to rise the second time.

Now, mix all the ingredients mentioned under topping and brush it on the breadsticks. Preheat oven at 400F. Place them inside the oven and bake it for about 12-14 minutes, until the top is golden. Do not overbake, they will not be as soft as you would like. Brush with more butter if you like and serve warm. Enjoy!
